Strength Challenge III

POWERLIFTING - STRONGMAN
 

 

1. ORGANIZER

The Tromaras Sports Club in collaboration with the Greek Powerlifting Academy announce the TROMARAS Strength Challenge III.

 

2. TROMARAS STRENGTH CHALLENGE III

The organization is pan-Hellenic in scope and is a ticket for international events, as well as international recognition. Specifically:

 

  • POWERLIFTING
    It is held under the international organization International Powerlifting League (IPL) and is a qualifier for the IPL World Championship, November 9 – 12, 2023, in Eugene, Oregon, USA and a qualifier for Olympia Pro Powerlifting, December 2023, in Las Vegas.

    * International records are officially registered. Any athlete who intends to break a record must contact Mr. Athanasios Lioura in advance.

 

  • STRONGMAN
    It is held under the international organization Strongman Corporation and is a Men's National Level Championship.

 

3. DATE & PART

  • The powerlifting competition will be held at 3 & June 4, 2023, at the Closed Municipal Gymnasium of Peania, located at 12 Irini Street & Pedoulas Cyprus, 19002 Peania (https://goo.gl/maps/HgBmM6miR8G2fvhK9).

 

  • The strongman match will be held at 10 & June 11, 2023, in the central square of Paiana, located on Vasileos Pavlou Street & Stamati Ioannis, 19002 Peania (https://goo.gl/maps/fzZZtbqdvqKNredP7).

    * Depending on the number of athletes, the race may be a one-day event, only on Sunday, June 11, 2023.

 

4. COMPETITIONS

Athletes may choose to compete in one or more of the following events, as the running of one will not coincide with the other.

5. REGULATIONS

  • Powerlifting
    They apply the International Powerlifting League (IPL) regulations. The rule book can be found on the IPL website (www.powerlifting-ipl.com), as well as on the organization's website.

 

  • Strongman
    The regulations are as follows. Further information will be provided on the day of the match.

    Farmer's Walk

  1. An attempt.

  2. 30 meter route with a turn at 15 meters.

  3. Time limit 1 minute.

  4. One or both axles are only allowed to touch the ground once. The second time it touches the attempt is completed.

  5. The reference point for grading is always the rear of the axle.

  6. Time stops when the back of the axle crosses the finish line.

  7. The spindle is not allowed to drag.

  8. Allowed equipment: belt (single or double), magnesia, knee pads, elbow pads, wristbands

  9. Disallowed equipment: glue, wrist straps, wrist 'anchors'

    Deadlift: For reps

  1. An attempt.

  2. Time limit 1 minute.

  3. A deadlift bar will be used.

  4. Conventional attitude only.

  5. Hitching is allowed.

  6. Both sides of the bar must touch the ground before the athlete begins each attempt.

  7. Good Lift: The athlete should come to a standing position with the barbell, head up, shoulders back and knees straight. When the "down" signal is given, the athlete must accompany the bar to the ground without letting go of it.

  8. Allowed equipment: belt (single or double), magnesia, knee pads, elbow pads, wristbands, baby powder, single or multi ply suit, wrist straps

  9. Disallowed equipment: glue, petroleum jelly, body oil

  10. Any anatomical limitation must be mentioned before the competition.

    Log Press: Maximum kg

  1. 3 attempts

  2. Time limit 1 minute to complete the attempt

  3. The athlete must wait for the "good" signal before lowering the trunk.

  4. The athlete must accompany the trunk without throwing it.

  5. Good Lift: The athlete should come to a standing position with arms extended, head up and between arms and knees extended.

  6. Allowed equipment: belt (single or double), magnesia, knee pads, elbow pads, wristbands, baby powder

  7. Disallowed equipment: glue, wrist straps, wrist "anchors", petroleum jelly, body oil, belt protrusion that helps raise the torso

  8. Any anatomical limitation must be mentioned before the competition.

    Atlas Stone over Yoke: For reps

  1. An attempt.

  2. Time limit 1 minute.

  3. Allowed equipment: belt (single or double), mags, glue, knee pads, elbow pads, wristbands

  4. Disallowed equipment: protrusion on the belt which helps to lift the stone

    Car Pulling

  1. An attempt.

  2. Time limit 1 minute.

  3. 15 meter route

 

* In the event of a contradiction between instructions and regulations, this notice shall prevail.

** The organizing committee will decide on any matter not provided for by this announcement.

*** The organizing committee can change or amend the announcement if it deems there is a serious reason. Any change will be notified in time.

 

6. RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE

Greek and foreign citizens who are legally in our country have the right to participate, having with them their police identity card or passport or identity certificate from the Municipality.

 

7. SPECTATORS - COACHES - ASSEMBLY

Each athlete has the right to a companion or coach in the warm-up. In the event that a coach accompanies two or more athletes, the athletes do not have the right for another person in the warm-up.

 

8. STATEMENTS OF PARTICIPATION

Entries must be submitted electronically, via                                       of the corresponding form of each sport, on the website of the organization (https://www.tromaras.com/tromaras-strength-challenge).

 

9. PARTICIPATION COST

The participation fee varies by sport and is indicated on the respective participation form. For your participation in the race to be valid, you must explicitly follow the instructions on the registration form.

 

10. AGE – PHYSICAL CATEGORIES

The categories differ by sport and are indicated on the respective entry form.
 

11. EQUIPMENT - SPORTS ENVIRONMENT

Sports attire and acceptable equipment are described in detail in the regulations.

 

12. WEIGH-IN – COMPETITION SCHEDULE

The weigh-in for the powerlifting categories will take place one day before the competition of each category. Athletes on the day of the weigh-in will sign a health and personal data protection declaration. On the same day, they will declare the first attempts and the person who will accompany them to the warming room.

 

The weigh-in for the strongman will take place on the same day, before the fight. Athletes on the day of the weigh-in will sign a health and personal data protection declaration.

 

The match schedule will be announced on Sunday, May 28, 2023 through our website (https://www.tromaras.com/tromaras-strength-challenge) and our Instagram account (tromaras_strength_challenge).

 

13. JUDGES

Greek and foreign international - national judges will referee.

 

14. PRIZES

All athletes will receive a commemorative diploma.

 

  • Powerlifting
    Medals and commemorative diplomas will be awarded to the top three in each age group & physical category, separately for each competition.


    Prizes will be awarded for Men's Powerlifting Overall, Men's Bench Press Overall, Men's Deadlift Overall and Women's Powerlifting Overall, Women's Bench Press Overall, Women's Deadlift Overall.

 

  • Strongman
    Medals and commemorative diplomas will be awarded to the top three in each age group & physical category that will score the highest score.


    An Overall Strongman prize will be awarded.

 

15. OBJECTIONS

No objections are allowed against the judges' decisions based on international regulations. For any other matter, objections must be submitted in writing to the committee no later than fifteen (15) minutes from the announcement of the results with the payment of a fee of €50, otherwise they will be considered not submitted. The fee is returned in case of even partial vindication of the objection.
